Handfasting

Feeling the heartbeat of Mother Earth, a Handfasting will enrich your life with the energy of Gaia and the Green Man, Bringing nature’s balance and harmony into your lives.. Releasing the God and Goddess with in each other.

It is an earth based celebration of two souls declaring their love and commitment to one another.

A Handfasting is a beautiful ancient ceremony dating back to the Celts. It is steeped in history and tradition and has been adapted through every age.

 It was originally more like an engagement , where two people would declare a binding union between themselves for a year and a day. Now a days it is a wonderful way within nature and surrounded by your friends and family to re affirm vows or to bind your energy together.

A Handfasting is not legally binding

The Ceremony

The ceremony can vary considerably depending on the couple

Generally though, it is held outdoors with the guests in a large circle around the couple and the priestess  binding their hands together with ribbon or cords .

The guests share food and wine, and once the couple has exchanged vows with their hands tied together, they jump a broomstick for good luck and the celebrations begin
